fundraising achievements

Filadelfia Secondary School for the Physically Disabled

Creating opportunities for disadvantaged and disabled South Africans to reach their full potential and live self-determined lives has always been Geoff’s biggest motivation in his work. One of his proudest achievements is the continued success of Filadelfia School. Its academic merit and reliable high rankings in Matric tables are just part of its recipe for success and empowerment of those at the margins of society. Geoff’s work in fundraising has assisted in many additional efforts, from state of the art assistive devices to mobility training and offering the students a sound value system at their boarding facilities.

Workshops for the Blind

Besides assisting with vehicles, equipment, training courses and running costs for various Societies for the Blind all over South Africa, Geoff has enabled Pretoria Workshop for the Blind to build their dream house and making it the pride of the Blind welfare organisations around the country.

Horizon Farm Trust

In 2003, Geoff raised the money to purchase a 30 acre property in Shongweni, KZN, and over the next ten years developed infrastructure and building to now house forty mentally handicapped school leavers. The Animal Assisted Therapy Program for residents and disabled children from the community and special-needs primary school have been additional areas of successful fundraising.
